Medical certificate for private security work and TIP renewal
We carry out the medical and psychometric assessment you need to sit the selection tests, obtain your professional authorisation or renew your TIP.

What it involves
Centre Revisions La Seu is an authorised medical centre for the psychophysical fitness tests required to work in private security in Spain.
Once the assessment is complete, we issue the official certificate of psychophysical fitness so that you can submit it to the national police (Policía Nacional) along with the rest of the paperwork for your procedure.
When do you need this medical?
The certificate confirms that you meet the physical and psychological conditions needed to carry out private security duties professionally. You will need it at several points in your career, not only at the start.
The Tarjeta de Identidad Profesional, known as the TIP, is the document that certifies a private security professional's authorisation to carry out their duties. It is generally valid for ten years from issue, and renewal on expiry is processed by the Policía Nacional, which allows you to keep the same authorisation number.
Which professionals we assess
We issue the certificate of psychophysical fitness for the following professional categories. When you book, tell us which specialism and procedure you need it for: some cases have specific requirements.
Security guard
Vigilante de seguridad. Certificate for sitting the selection tests, obtaining professional authorisation and applying for or renewing the TIP.
Explosives guard
Vigilante de explosivos, a specialism within the security guard role. The certificate covers access to the specialism and the related TIP procedures.
Private bodyguard
Escolta privado. Certificate for obtaining authorisation as a private bodyguard. For this category the certificate must also state the applicant's height, which we measure at the centre.
Other procedures
We also issue the certificate for other private security procedures whenever the regulations or the Policía Nacional require this psychophysical assessment.
Authorisation for rural guards (guardas rurales) and their specialisms follows a different procedure, which falls to the Guardia Civil. If you need the certificate for that category, tell us before booking and we will confirm which procedure applies.
What does the check-up involve?
The assessment confirms that there is no illness, impairment or physical or psychological deficiency incompatible with carrying out private security duties.
The assessment is adapted to the role and to the procedure applied for, following the fitness criteria set out in private security regulations.
What the psychometric test involves
The assessment includes a psychological evaluation by means of psychometric tests, which cover aspects such as:
It is not an exam on legislation, security procedures or professional knowledge.
The theory, physical and professional tests required to obtain certain authorisations are separate and are not carried out at our centre. Entry fitness tests, such as the strength or endurance exercises a recruitment process may require, are not part of the psychophysical assessment.
What to bring
You do not need to bring photographs for the medical certificate: we take the photograph that goes on it at the centre. Bear in mind that, to apply for or renew the TIP afterwards, the Policía Nacional may ask you for additional passport-style photographs, which are separate from ours.
How does it work?
- You book an appointment at the centre.
- We check your documents and the type of procedure.
- We review your medical history and general state of health.
- We carry out the physical, vision, hearing and perceptual-motor examinations.
- You complete the psychological or psychometric evaluation.
- We measure your height where required.
- We take the photograph for the certificate.
- If the result is favourable, we issue the official certificate of psychophysical fitness.
- You submit the certificate to the Policía Nacional along with the rest of the paperwork required for your procedure.
After the centre: the procedure with the Policía Nacional
Depending on the procedure, the paperwork may be submitted at authorised police stations, through the established electronic channels, as part of a recruitment process, or at the point of applying for or renewing the TIP.

Other requirements to work in the sector
Applicants declared fit must apply for the TIP within the deadline set by the recruitment process. If that deadline passes, you may have to prove your psychophysical fitness again. Likewise, if the certificate expires before the procedure begins, a new assessment may be needed.
The TIP can also be renewed if it is lost, stolen or damaged, and renewal allows you to keep the same professional authorisation number.
The certificate confirms psychophysical fitness only. Training, selection tests, professional authorisation and the issuing or renewal of the TIP are the responsibility of the Policía Nacional, which will also check your training, your test results and all other legal and administrative requirements. We do not process the TIP at the centre.
